Which Image?

Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” -Gen 1:27 AMP

For those that have been in the faith or have been in Sunday school before we have been continuously and repetitively taught that we were created in God’s image…which at a point in time sounded and still sounds pretty illogical for someone to resemble over 8 billion beings with different variations of physiques and facial characteristics..

This caused doubt and generation of debating theories and misconceptions about Him creating humans in the first place however as I said before.. it was all a misconception due to the different translations of languages used to make the Bible come to me and you.

As you may see in one of the versions (amplified version) it says that the likeness was not physical but spiritual and thereafter he says that they (that have fully come to the understanding of the spiritual likeness shall have authority over all on the earth.

So why haven’t things been working out? Why do you feel like the promises that God speaks of in the Bible are not evident in your life? Why does it seem like this whole likeness thing is vanity ?

It’s because you have been or still might be carrying a wrong perspective of yourself being in God’s image. It was never your flesh it’s your Spirit (the inner man) and as you shift your conscience to understanding the power inside you… you’ll start to see the transformation of the way you handle situations. You’ll see fruit in your life yet again not by Power not by Might but by His Spirit!

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:18 KJV
